power cones
i own a 2004 fxst and im putting a set of big growl 2 1/4 drag pipes on it, my question is, does any of you use power cones,i just heard about them, was wondering if there something i should ad or not,i dont know if they would be to restrictive or if they are alright to put on,i need the pros and cons on these things to know to order them or not.THANKS.
i've been using them on my '02 fxst with vance & hines straight shots & no baffles.
originally i left the baffles in & no power cones. then i removed the baffles. after removing the baffles it felt like torque decreased.
dropped the power cones in & torque felt better.
keep in mind this is all "butt dyno" testing.
i think they work well where there's low back pressure.

I had power cones in my Samson,Rip Saws and they worked great.
2-1/4" is too big for drag pipes. My Rip Saws were 1-3/4" OD and I have the 103" engine. 2-1/4" should be setup for baffles. I think you are going to lose a lot of low end power running that big a diameter pipes without baffles.

ive been doing some reading on it and i read that some people are going to lowes and buying copper pipe reducers and putting them around 4 inches in the end of the pipes with the narrow end pointing out.would that help out at all
