TSSM Question
I have a 2008 FXDF, I washed it the other day and am now having intermittent lighting issues, Neutral light comes on and off, 6th gear light sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, the red key light comes on while riding for a few minutes then goes off again. One time I had to pull in the clutch to start the bike, even though it was in Neutral, however that only happened once.
This morning when I went to start her up I got nothing. I fooled around with it a bit, the bike started but the alarm was still active (meaning that the hazzard lights were still flashing). I shut it down, went inside the house and scooped up my other fob, came back outside and the bike started fine. It runs perfect, except for the neutral light/red key/on and off again 6th gear indicator.
I've pulled off and blown out the wires to the Neutral switch, all connectors under my speedometer and the main harness connector.
I was looking through the wiring diagram and noticed that the Neutral wire goes to the TSSM, I figured that's where the water is. There is a warning on the outside of the TSSM that seems pretty serious. Is there a specific procedure for removing it so that I can m/b dry that out?
