While I was riding the bike this afternoon, I noticed that if I pull in the clutch and coast, I hear a whine coming from either under me or behind me a bit. Obviously it's hard to tell while cruising down the road at 50 mph. It's not the motor, definitely speed related vs. RPM related. Sounds closer to the tranny than anything else. Normal or should I be concerned? I just changed the fluid about two months ago or so, used Lucas gear oil, about 3/4 of a quart til indicated full on the jiffy stand.
My FSM says a quart too, but when it appeared to read full on the dipstick after the 3/4, I figured it had some residual fluid left inside. The dipstick is chrome, which makes it a bit harder to read with the fresh fluid, maybe I need to add more.

I use 75w90 gear oil like Royal Purple, my bike takes less than a quart when measured HOT with the bike standing straight up, not on the jiffy stand.
Maybe somebody will answer who actually knows your bike, I use a owners manual.

Reason: punctuation
Just changed mine last week, only took about 3/4 of the quart. I have
pirelli night dragon tires....would that make a big difference in fluid level as measured on dip stick..,?
