yes you can mount it on either side, if you did the left side you would have to go under the clutch cable witch is no big deal at all. i picked the right side because the left side is ugly enough as is and im right handed.
maybe it would look cool if i had one on each side??hummm
i have the ebay one and mine leaks but still works. Who has rebuilt them and can you explain what to do. I would like to rebuild mine before sturgis this year. Joe, i dont understand what you mean about making it square?
I have the somewhat pricy Storz damper but have to say the quality is excellent. I mounted it on the left side so I can tweak the adjuster while still working the throttle.

I have the Ebay unit- really BKrider is the name of outfit that sells 'em. The first one had leaked from the get go but worked for about 6 months. It a took a major dump on me outside of Walla Walla this spring, puked fluid all over my tank. Tried to find a cheap set of face pin spanners to rebuild it, but cost as much as the frickin' damper. Suddenly dawned on me that it had 1 year warranty and I bought it last August. Sure as *****, emailed and 'em, and they said send it back, we send ya new one. And they did. New unit works better than the old ever did, no leaky so far- knock wood. I used some Nylon spacers and steel barrel sleeve to reduce the angle, but also made sure Heim joints worked smoothly, probably just as important- little Corrosion X should keep 'em happy. Other thing that gets any damper is road grime and bug guts building up on the damper rod and fouling the seals. As far as painting the damper body, was advised by a Beemer riding buddy not to- don't want do anything to the damper that will help hold extra heat inside; according to him, makes 'em more prone to failure.
loner 88- can u show me a picture of looking down at your frame clamp? i wanted to put miner higher but the extra welded frame thickness there made me stay below it

Sure Bro, but won't do ya much good unless ya fab something up- the FleaBay unit ( BKrider) uses an L-bracket mounted to the frame where the top of an engine guard would be attached. ( fukin' , gotta wash bike again).
thanks man, im sure mine is fine but i like that yours doesnt have as much angle on the heim joint.....i think im just gonna add another barrel sleeve. thanks again!!
They do the same thing doesnt matter if there on a gsxr 1000 or a fat bob.(keeps your front end tight and prevents speed wobble)AS a matter of fact my fat bob needed one alot more than my gixxer. If you converted from a sport bike these bikes feel pretty sloppy.
