the ebay one only leaks if it is not put on properly and aligned strait i have installed over 15 and had 1 leak.. they repalced it no question... i shimmed it with some washers to get is square and it works perfect now
do you have a picture of how you shimmed it to make it square?
the small washers that where included with it. you put those on the shaft of the mounts to make sure it is strait... any damper if it comes in crooked or twists will leak you have to really take your time installing any type of damper to ensure it will operate correctly
Dooley did you order the one from j&p? I like the way that one mounts a lot better than all the brackets. Doesn't the heim joint on there give a bit of "wiggle room" when it comes to being square?
Thanx hd Dooley now I have another part to ad to my list haha
LMAO....when i signed up i was content with a pipe, air,hd tune and some more black..... now my list is 5 miles long and worth a good 6-7g. i have a love hate relationship with all the bad *** mods everyone posts on here!
I finally got around to taking some picts of that new steering damper.
I have to say its very good quality and works just like it should, has quick click adjustments, its rebuildable, fairly easy to install.
as for the install. you will see in the pict that my heim joint it almost maxed out doing it the way they said to(butt up against the triple tree clamp)...im sure this is fine. but i lowered the fork bracket a few mm just so that the joint wasnt at its max all the time.
Do you think i should black it out so its not so much of an eye sore?
