best way to cheat the wind?

I put a National Cycle detachable Street Shield. It helps quite a bit. If you're tall you have to set it kind of high off the headlight. You may want to look into fork shields too. It's real easy to take it off and on.

I bought the HD 18" QD windshield for my 2011 Wide Glide. Got horrible buffeting. Had it cut down to 15" and the buffeting was eliminated. It now does exactly what you hope for: all the wind on my torso is blocked allowing me a relaxed riding position and my helmet is in clean wind.
I'm considering either cutting the windshield down dramatically or go for a solution like the kury roll bag to get the air out of my chest, but let my head to receive the full blast of the wind, no buffeting and way less noise.
Anybody has positive experiences about this touring shield? It may have different effect depending on the body built, I'm 5'9..
