check the wheel bearings to see if they are in the center of the wheel itself. found this on a friends bike not to long ago. he was having the problom in the other direction. his brake pads were falling out on the inside of his brake caliper.

I guess it was an illusion.... I got my *** down on the ground and slid a credit card between the belt & tire with no problem and seemingly no touching...? I guess it just looks like it from the angle that you can see it with.... Hm.
