there are numerous threads on this.

Yes it's ok, a lot of guys on here are running only the rears including myself. The rear end doesn't feel as planted as before but that's because the geometry has changed.

+1. Only lowered rear on mine. It's fine.

It gives the bike a nice look but it will look better if you save up and do the front also. The rear gives it more of a chopper look

It will work....the steering will feel really light and you may get some bar shake at high speed. If you have long pipes, they will look like they are bent down in the rear because the swing arm angle has been changed and will no longer be parallel to the ground due to the shorted shocks. Short shot style pipes prevent the bent pipe look because they do not extend past the swing arm pivot.
You may not be able to pull the fork tubes up in the triple trees if you have a 08' or newer Street Bob with the integral risers. The tubes would hit the bottom of the mini apes.

thanks for the constructive comments guys..

is lowering the front as simple as loosening the triple clamp, sliding tubes up, retighten?

pros and cons of doing this? i have plenty of room.. 9" riser w/ drag bars
