One gallon zip lock bags folded and stuck in the front ofmy jacket. Protected from anything wet and from tearing that way, can insert any other relevant small documents for the mission.
this is what i do to.

i usually use a program phrom delorme called street atlas. it lets you route a phew different ways. you can add waypoints to phorce it down the exact roads you want or just give it A & B and let it decide phor you. street atlas also contains points or interest that include gas stations, restaurants, and hotels. great tool phor planning a trip, and it will print turn by turn directions.

i also like to go over the route, once planned, with google earth. lets you see the terrain, by aerial photos, and it also includes the gas, groceries, and hotel info.

but yeah, once the trip is all planned, and maps / docs prepared, i but them in a ziplock and stuff it in either a vest pocket or a bag.

dynamac

which size navigator do you have? also, the Neoprene bottom really helps protect paint or do you think it might still do damage?

thanks, chris

I stick the map in my pocket and check it every so often when I need it.
