Default Warm Up Time ?

I've heard different things about how long to warm up a bike before taking off but still not sure-i ride like 30 miles to and from work-starting out about 2am-temp. around 60-usually ill start it up-let it run for a minute and take off-is this ok or am hurting the bike?

I start my bike and ride it once the idle goes down to 1000 after a few seconds.

I go "easy does it" for a mile or so. But then, where I live, temperatures don't go very low and when they do it will be after the riding season.

I never let it warm up more than 10 seconds or so, then ride out nice and easy for a few minutes, and then the sky is the limit.

Your not hurting the bike LOL! your spoiling her!!!

Personal preference...most riders go 1-min or less. I let bike run while putting on helmet & chacking brakes/signals so my warm-up time's in the 1-2 min range.

15 - 30 seconds according to the manual, then a nice easy ride out of the neighborhood and go.

10-15 seconds unless it's been sitting for more than a week or when it's cold outside (less than 40).

Agreed, I start it then put on my helmet and gloves. In the winter when it's in the 30's (don't ride it much when it's below 32) I give it some extra warm up time. Some of the guys that have the tuners where you can mount a controller to monitor the bike have posted that the bike at idle in "normal" ambient temps never reaches operating temps until you ride it.
