Default Oil change

Just changed my oil and filter. I'm planning on 2k - 2.5k intervals for changing the oil. My question is: how often does the filter need to be changed?

Just get this bike or something? Use synthetic an go 7K between changes. 2K is waste of time in my opinion. For a lot of us, that would be about every 2 weeks this time of the year.

Havent had it that long. My google implies inspect every time but not necessarily change it every time.

The filter is less than $10. Just change it every oil change. Not worth changing oil if not changing filter. I change mine every 3 to 5 thousand.

Change the oil and filter every 5k, and that's probably a little overkill.

I have never changed the oil on any vehicle without changing the filter at the same time.

Why? The owners manual tells you what to service and when.

I've always been taught, regardless of vehicle type, to change the filter when the oil is changed. I use synthetic fluids and change them at the beginning of the "riding" season.

Default change filter

I just changed my oil the other day and forgot to change the filter. Second time for me and don't plan on doing it again but my question is do I need to be concerned if I miss changing the filter just one time. I'm babying my bike because I'm 61 and planning on this bike lasting me forever so I change every 3000 on oil, 6000 on primary, and 14000-15000 on transmission using Amsoil Synthetic. I can afford it so what the heck.
