Default My Speedometer relocation

When I had my sportster I didn't like the speedo mounted to the handlebar clamp. And now that I have my Dyna with the Z bars I really don't like it there.

I found this clamp on ebay and it's setup to mount to the sportster tank bolt. On the FXD it won't work because it would hit the bars and the tank.

I bought it anyway. Today at work I found a stainless steel spacer that was about 4" long and I tapped both ends of it.

I drilled the mounting hole on the clamp to accept a 5/16" bolt.

Here is the spacer mounted to the clamp. I radiused one end of the spacer to fit with the curved clamp.

Here it is mounted to the bike. It has just enough clearance so the forks don't touch.

And this is the view from the seat. Oh and that mirror is temporary, I can't see **** out of it.

Once i get home from work I'll put the speedo in the mount, Install my new handlebar clamp, move my dummy lights and take more pics.

Nice job! Save you $$$ buying expensive RSD relocation bracket.
Now it's time to do handlebar internal wires.

Looks good man. Just for more ideas, here is a bracket I made when I had my sportster. Although I didn't add the lights because the guy I got the bike from cut the wires too close..
