I have read many threads here on this forum. Some people claim they have no vibration others claim that there bikes vibrate in high gears at high speeds.
Well, my 2011 Wide Glide seems to vibrate in low gears at low RPMs. As I get going everything seems to level off and it is very smooth. I would say that first and second gear are the worst. I feel the vibes on the bars and pegs. I have stock forward controls. Maybe the position of the pegs give more vibes then mid-controlled pegs. Is this normal?
I have checked my front rubber mount. I have loosened the two bolts and check to see if there is a space between the frame and mount. I have no space...
Has anyone else found that they had no space here? Most people claim they found a space...
I have checked my tire pressure. Tires are set to factory specifications. 30 psi front and 40 psi rear. This bike has a hard ride to it, you feel everything on the road at low speed. Suspension is stock...
I am going to loosen the exhaust mount and see if this helps any. Maybe the vibes are normal? I do not know. So, back to the question. What is normal vibrations?

If it smooths out at cruising speed I would not worry about, mine has always been partial to a certain RPM range.
As far as forwards, that is about the smoothest place on my bike, I tried different mount locations for my video camera and attached to the master cylinder on my right control gave the smoothest picture.
vibration is relative..and i guess it depends on what you came from.
i and many others had that 3k vibe that made the whole
bike shudder and i can tell you i was told it was normal
many times with my switchback by certain people on here
that quite frankly didnt know what the hell they were talking
about.
in my case after the TSB was performed on my bike 3 weeks ago
i am now at what i consider NORMAL vibrations to me and can run
80mph all day long comfortably
I have to check my front mount, but the vibration I get pretty much makes my mirrors worthless at any speed. As for any other vibrations, they seem normal.
My Road Glide rode smoother and less vibs, but that is to be expected out of a bagger.
I have the same issue with mine if Im in 3rd and going 30mph it shakes roughly, however in the same gear I could go 40mph and the vibration smooths out. Same with first and second if Im using them in the lower speeds.

That is the motors way of telling you that you are lugging it, 30 MPH in 3rd is too slow.
I find if I keep the rpms up the vibration is less unless I really stress it then the mirrors are worthless. But then I'm not too concerned about what's behind me.
8541hog dude I just have to say your bike is freaking beautiful man.
30 mph in 3rd gear is not lugging the motor if its not under a high load...on level ground with a steady speed(30) isn't lugging. I get the same vibration.
