I have partially installed some 14" apes and I have some questions. I still have the clutch cable to do and it appears that I have to remove the exhaust and take off the clutch cover to do this? Am I correct? Anything I need to know before pulling it off?
Second, I put the right controls on and am having trouble adjusting the throttle. Was I suppose to grease the bars before putting the throttle back on? If so, what type of grease?

Thank you!
Don't grease the bars the throttle assembly should slide right on. It's held in with the control housing. Yes you need to remove the clutch cover. You'll need a set of retaining ring pliers, big ones. And just take note of where and how the internals go back together. As well as the bolts that hold the cover on, they're different lengths. Now is the time to do an ez pull if you want, everything will be out. You'll also want to loosen the cable all the way, will make getting it onto the hub much easier. Good luck.
Thanks alot for the advice. So, if the throttle is not snapping back properly, I must have something installed incorrectly? I can not get it to adjust.

Make sure your throttle adjusting screw is not screwed in.

That and when you put the throttle on, to get the cables into the actual throttle I loosen them up pretty good. Take note of which stock cable has the spring on the end that goes into the TB/carb, in which hole I should say. Also I take the intake off so I can see where wide open is, the butterfly will go flat. Once that's correct, adjust the return spring so there is a little play in the housing and you're good. Just make sure you get that little spring into the right hole.

I think you mean you take of the air filter backing plate not the intake?
If the throttle is binding, check the right control clamps and switch housing, it may not line up and putting pressure on the throttle grip, I've seen it many times. Don't forget to check the throttle thumb screw, it could be tight as well.
