Finally did it! I found a local wrench here on Long Island that took apart my front end, sent is out and had it powder coated and re-assembled. There are not many places here that will tie up a lift to do this. This is the way I think the bike should have come from the factory.... I like a good blend of black and chrome.

You mean your triple-tree? When you say "front-end" I take that to mean the whole front end - triple tree & forks.
And why did you pay someone? I replaced my whole front end with a wide-glide front end, triple-tree, forks, and tire. Had to add a brake extension bracket that required a bit of fabricating. Did it all myself, using nothing but a Harley and Chiltons manual for my bike. There is nothing more satisfying then wrenching your own bike.
