I ran the Avon Storm 2 Ultra 170/60ZR17 on the rear and the Avon Venom
110/90-19 on the front..Great combo for all weathers..I live in sweden and ride year round.
Changed the rear to the Pirelli Night Dragon 180/60B17 V after the Avon wore out, still a good tire but the Avons grip a little better in my opinion.
The Pirelli although a 180 is'nt really that much wider than the avon, just has a higher sidewall.
Hey Sumpnut, thanks for the pics! It does seem like the Pirelli fills out the fender a little more, both front to back and side to side, but I'm not too worried about that. Anything wider than the 160 is an improvement to me. I think I'm pretty well sold on the Storm, I'll talk to the indie today about the Venom.
There's a side of me that still hates to remove a perfectly good front tire, but adding a matched Venom can only be an improvement.

Thanks for the link, those are really good prices. My only problem is getting tires and bike to the shop in one go.
I went down to the Indie today and put a 170/60R-17 Storm and 110/90H-19 Venom on order...I opted for the wider tire up front because my tire following road snakes and cracks pisses me off, and I think it looks better. I'm shelling out more than I would from sporttour.com but this shop does good work and I'm new to this area so I don't have anyone to help cart the tires over. The convenience is worth it I guess.
I'm looking forward to trying them out, I've heard nothing but good things and I need some tires that I can trust for once.
