My GF and myself picked up our Switchbacks tonite. Her's is black, mine is red.
We had about and hour drive back home via I-75. I traded in my '02 Heritage and so far I'm not sorry. I didn't really notice much difference in comfort but definetly the Dyna is more nimble. Yes Virginia I did notice some vibration at idle and a little at about 75 mph. The idle doesn't bother me, it's like a muscle car...you would expect it to vibrate...I like feeingl the power of that new 103. The highway speed, not so much it would bother me. Hopefully, as some have said, it becomes less at the bike breaks in.
One thing we did notice, it seems pretty hot on the right side, coming from the pipes I would guess. I've never noticed that much heat from my Heritage. Maybe it's the placement of the pipes.
My GF traded in her Honda 750 Spirit. She really likes the "more power" aspect. She was thinking about a new Honda but she liked the looks of the Dyna and the fact that it came with a windshiled and hardbags.
So, with less that 100 miles on the clocks we only know what we know so far...we like 'em!!
Now..to personalize it.

Removing the Catalytic converter helps a lot with the heat..
I'm one thanks to Dudlee, that no longer has one of those monster heat creators. After seeing that photo I ordered a full exhaust system. The excessive heat is now gone.
On one of my post, I mention the vibrations. I have spoken with the service mgr. at the dealership where I bought mine. He told me and that there is no top mount, I looked and there is no top motor mount and Harley put a new type mount on the Fld. The vibrations are normal. Figure if anything goes wrong under warranty and get it replaced free of charge. Has anyone changed out the stock grips for any other type. The stock ones are to small besides I had Kuy. ISO on my old bike.
lobanion, Vibration is subjective of course, but some have had vibration at cruising speed that was worse than an old solid mounted bike, jarring, completely blurred mirrors. That is not normal and a service bulletin was recently shown on the forum about adjusting the tolerance on the motor mounts. I would look through the forum and find it and take it to the dealer. Mine cruises smoothly, shakes a lot at idle only, much like my 09 Nightster did.
Mine had a horrible vinration bewtween 2800 and 3500 rpm. I was able to solve the problem by loosening the entire exhaust, and then retorquing everything, starting at the headers and working backwards.
