Lots of threads on here about the Switchback. You have a lot of reading to get caught up on. Heavy vibs have been mentioned.

Looks like you've made some mods. Looks good, what all have you done?

Default New Switchback

Congratulations on the new FLD. I purchased a Switchback in May of this year; first issue was to work through the vibration with the dealer/factory. Do a search, you should find the info you need to correct the vibration which seems to start hard about 2200-2500 RPM, it can be corrected.

Bought mine last August, 7800 miles later still loving it. Put on the signature seat, it does move me up and forward about an inch but a big improvement. GF is very happy to ride on it, we did a 1k 3 day through the mountains. I have had no excessive vibe problems, mirrors clear cruising down the interstate. No power train mods yet. Handles great IMO.

yeah i love the 103 on mine, though many will argue with me but i feel the 103 is a stronger running motor than the 96 i just came off of..i like my switchback a lot but i just wish it has full sized bags. and wish it came stock with apes like on the streetbob

Congratulations on your Switchback.
Mine hasn't had the vibration problem.
I did have to tighten the fluid plugs underneath, probably vibrated a little loose, noticed a couple oil drops. Didn't do it again.
The rubber mounted, non-balanced engine really feels and vibrates like a Harley at a stop - but soooo smooth when cruising.
We're all figuring out ways to customize since she's too new for allot of aftermarket yet.
Enjoy!

Yesterday my GF and I looked at Switchbacks (red for me, black for her). I'm looking at trading in my '02 Heritage and she'd be trading in her '09 Honda 750 Shadow. I had been looking at Road Kings and Electraglides. something with a newer look and hardbags. Great bikes but a little out of my price range. I like my Heritage but I have been longing for a stripped down street bike, like I used to ride back in the day when I rode a Sportster or a Triumph. Not only didn't have a windshield or saddlebags but not even turn signals. Nothing more than was nessessary to make the bike run. But I've gotten spoiled with the Heritage.
So we see the Switchback. TA DA! Windshield, hardbags (yes they're kinda small but so far we haven't done any trips that would require more that the 4 bags would carry)...and it's all removable. And I think it looks great stripped down. I really dig the headlight and Torque Thrust style wheels. I can see personalizing this bike with higher bars, possibly a different seat, maybe a shorter slip on muffler and perhaps a 2 tone paint scheme. For the price I think this bike will be a big seller.
We're suppose to hear Monday if we can make the deals work.

Just imagine if the bags were the same size as the tourers! Everyone would be talking about how goofy and out of proportion they looked! They fit the bike. The fender width and length, shocks, passenger leg room and exhaust dictate a maximum size. At best they could have widened them an inch at the bottom of the bags. Given that they are partially supported by the side of the fender, weight had to be a concern.

that is the biggest thing i wish for was that the bags were wider not so much longer...i think they would look good if they were wider.
