just cause they sheered off does not mean the wheel is shot.. got any pics? i just machined mine back out but others have had good luck just removing the bolts
these are bolts that stress when tq'd you must replace them if you remove the pulley... pulley removed = new bolts to be used... also you can get 10 of them for like $7 from fassen all
yup - i had mine shear once, and backed out once - makes yer butt pucker dont it!
i replaced with ARP head studs (20tp for the hub side red loctite like a Biotch and and 14tp for a mechanical lock nut side with blue locktite) torqued to above spec
i dont know the specific shear strength of the arp stud - main purpose for going to the stud was clamping force (I had considered safety wire drilled bolts as another options but decided on the stud/lock nut) cuz i want the pulley to stay the F put!
Back to the shear question though - In my opinion it isnt hard to exceed Harleys hardware standards and ARP is (also in my op) top notch
specific to the head bolts used:
these head studs are manufactured by ARP from premium 8740 chrome moly steel and heat treated to 190,000 psi. They are thread rolled after the heat treating process, which vastly improves their fatigue tolerance compared to studs threaded before heat treatment

FASTENAL...just clarifying actual company name. Thanks for the source.
