I just bought a Switchback, and I'm really liking the idea that's it's four bikes in one...

I originally thought about just taking the windshield off forever, till one day on the parkway (doing about 65) I got hit by something, rather large and juicy, sorta like hitting a tomato with a baseball bat. The ooze from that SOB started at the clutch grip and went all the way up my arm to my neck... nasty.
Now I'm thinking I may hang onto it for occasional use after all...

Of all the configurations though, I'm liking the one with bags and no windshield best for everyday use...

On the way home tonight from work, I hit the interstate and did about 10 miles at 80+. I am sold on it for high speed trips.

Installed it and hated it. 15 inches was still too short after adjusting it and National Cycle seems to be the only windshield made so it WILL NOT take a standard windshield bag! Put it on ebaybay and bought a Memphis Shade's Fat 17 inch to fit my new 9 inch headlight. Much better but I really could have used the 19 inch one. The problem is you don't know until after it is mounted and adjusted on your personal bike how much protection you will get. May order the 19 inch next year. Sure are a lot of other parts I'd like to have though. Many wants, few dollars!

One way to check it out before buying is to get some heavy duty cardboard and cut out a windshield shape at the height you think you want - duct tape it on and take a spin. Ideally, the top of the windshield should be somewhere between just above your chin and just below the bridge of your nose. Depends on the angle, your helmet, bike, etc.

Hehehe. I think this **** is funny. If you want to eat bugs eat them....if you don't then don't. It's all part of owning a bike. Doesn't matter. Just ride and enjoy no matter who rides beside you. No matter what they ride or thier preferences. It's like asking me to wips my *** exactly the same way you do. Just ride.

Yeah bro, I ride my Switchback around town with Bags, No Screen. I don't care what people think about how I look. I ride for me. I want my screen for long trips though.

Just wondering, do you get a good deal of buffeting behind your windscreen? Mine is kinda popping me all over, side to side, front to back. Almost seems less comfortable then no screen at all.

Anyone get this buffeting? I'm average height, 5'11" and I have tried many positions behind my screen, as well as many speeds, trying to find a sweet spot. No luck so far. Just turbulence like a **** and I kinda hate it :/
