ok alot of you might know i love to travel ALOT with my streetbob. i travel thousands and thousands of miles on my bike a year.going to diffrent rallies and such stuff.well sometimes while iam riding,i'll get bored and need some tunes to pass the time, espically going threw the boring flat states.and i dont trailer my bike no were, unless its broke.i cant stand wearing headphones well riding.so i have looked at diffrent stereo systems for a bike on the market.and ill be damned if i was going to spends $400-900 for a stero system, that ill only use when iam traveling.besides that it will sit in the garge.so since i do alot of prototype work on concept vechilesand work with all diffrent kinds of materails.from metal, plastics, wood ,clay and so on.i decided to make my own case.so i built a vacuum form machine,it took me awhile to make the machine and the molds.but since i used to be a machine builder,it wasnt that bad to make.so here it is,its not copmpletely finished yet, still have to cut the speaker holes out, rivet it together and wire it up.but its pretty close to being finished.and i was so happy on how its going..so i figure i would show you guys, another one of my crazy ideas .nice thing about it will be,when i get to my distination.i can unplug it and take my windsheild off and put it in my tent or hotel room.within seconds.so here is some pics of my molds and case.so enjoy .so what you guys think?
RE: my prototype windshield stereo case for dyna's
Jackyl,
I'm often amazed at the creativity of Dyna owners to get the exact look and features that they want/need in their scoot. Every time I think a new idea can't be topped, I see something else that makes me realize that there is no end to the possibilities.
For your new stereo all you need to do is get 12V to your system - and it's self contained. Perfect.
Keep the thread alive by posting new pics when the speakers and head unit are installed!
RE: my prototype windshield stereo case for dyna's
glide05 lol,are you reading my mind again? my next idea ,iam going to try is a heated seat skin.that you slip over your seat ,that will be done hopefully in the next few months.my goal is to make any dyna ,sportster or softail to beable to make thier bike into a tourbike.within minutes and beable to strip it down in mintes.2 bikes in 1.then when you get to your distination you can strip your bike down to nakedand have your streetbike.then you dont have to spend 20,000 to 30,000 on a tourbike.quick, easy ,inexpensive is my modo.never say never on anything.i keep posting on this thread until its done.
RE: my prototype windshield stereo case for dyna's
iam think of putting 2 cigerette lighter outlets on the front face for a light and my fuzzbuster or for peoples heated gear .kinda like this.you have to look at the pic.cant see it from the thumbnail

Nice work jackyl. Very nice.
I am a modeller/moldmaker, so I can really appreciate the effort.

I can make anything except a pure blooded WildCat kitten.
Looks like you can too.
The boombox housing should be extremely marketable.
How much does it cost to build a vacuum forming machine??
