Ive got a new fat bob and I have decided im putting apes on it. I have the style picked out but im having trouble deciding what length to go. I am about six feet tall, i have some two inch risers and i want to be as close to shoulder height as possible if not just a little higher. Can anyone help me out?
For me yes but we are all built different budy some are 6ft but have long backs / short backs / long arms / short arms / you get the picture. You could always mock some up from 1.5" plastic pipe from the plumbers merchant 1st and get exactly what you need.
I have a 12 SB and went with the 16's from Burly. I am 6'3 and they are a little below shoulder; however, if I move them forward or back it does adjust the hight of the bar.
FYI, I was able to do mine without extending wiring. There was enough in the backbone to support the 16's.
I ran 13's + 4" risers (17" total) on my Low Rider and loved it. Ironically, when I ordered a set for my Fat Boy I went with 14" chubby's. For me, the best research tool was to google your bike model and 14" or 16", and the word ape or apes, and click the images tag. You'll get probably a thousand pictures of your bike with the exact bars your interested in. That was a huge help for me.
