SHOEI RF-1100 Strikeforce... wore it once, like being in a car.
I guess if yu have to commute (to work or?) all year round, then it cud be tolerable.
I just pleasure ride... and this thing is huge (as in bobble-head), drives me nuts!
I wear a SkullKrush, Carbon-Fiber x Kevlar Ply, w/memory foam lining, and feels like I'm not wearin' a helmet. I think the fullface are for hi-speed, & all crotchrockets...
I'm a putter, hardly ever over 50-60, and 90% of the time 40-ish mph... so fer me it's overkill... I know what yur thinkin' 'Hate to hit a tree head-on at 60 mph but I'll take my chances with the SkullKrush, Great Helmet fer boppin' around!
i like the arai i had, but went down with it on, riding a different bike. now i have an icon helmet. im happy with it and it was a 1/3 of the cost of the arai.
BTW- I HAVE buried someone I loved because of a cager- and it doesn't affect my riding or protection views- if people are scared to ride, they don't belong on a bike-
Well, let me explain I'm not "scared" of my bike, i respect it. Im sorry you have also had to go through this. If its me my bike and a nice twisty road I'll push if through like a sport bike. I flat fukin go, in fact my whole group does. That said I'm 31 with two kids and Id rather have them talk to daddy than pray he's in heaven. Will a helmet help maybe, sure can't hurt. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you can't learn from the mistakes of other...that's not my fault. Ride safe.
My favorite is a silver Arai that I've had for a few years. My head shape seems better suited to the Arai shape. I was surprised how much cooler a silver one is compared to a black one. Possibly more visible too. Try them on to make sure. The Shoei line is good too but the shape doesn't fit me as well. I have found over the years that buying a cheap helmet never satisfies me. There are some nice inexpensive ones made but to me there is no substitute for quality and parts a ailability.

Well put. I wear a FF Arai mostly and love it. There's also the issue of hearing damage which starts to creap up on you if you're not careful.
