Im wanting to switch over to a full face. I ride in all conditions, cold, hot, rain. I was wondering what most of you full facer's were wearing. FYI money really isn't a issue. I'm looking at the Shoei Qwest.
***FYI I know this will open a can of worms. Until you've buried someone you love because of a negligent cager, please don't. Has me thinking of a little more safety on my end. I really don't want my wife and kids spending my life insurance just yet....
Shoei X11, Liner comes completely out for machine washing. Face shield comes off in seconds for cleaning or switching. Wind quiet, light, great peripheral vision and very well ventilated. Super easy lone hand latching and positioning of face shield. I tired on and read many reviews of full face helmets and found the X11 met my needs. You have to try on and function several different brands and models with the criteria that is important to you in mind, one or two will stand out.
This is much how I prefer my bike to look.
I went to harley and a Honda dealer yesterday. Tried a couple different lids on. Didnt like them much. There's a motorcycle super store about a hour away. I might make a trip tomorrow.
The KBC helmets fit me better than others. my favorite one is 16 yrs old. I have a new carbon fiber but havent spent the time breaking it in, its a little tight in the cheeks
I just bought an HJC RPS-10. I didn't think I would ever switch to a full face, but oddly enough I really like it. Pennsylvania is a no helmet required state, but ever since I had kids I started wearing helmets .... started off with half helmets, then moved to 3/4 helmet, every helmet seemed to make me look like a mushroom head. Wore a 70's DOT approved 3/4 helmet for the past 4 years, but the interior was starting to deteriorate. Switched to a Lick's 3/4 DOT helmet, but never really seemed to fit properly.
I highly recommend the HJC RPS 10, super light and lots of ventilation.
