2011 Dyna Wide Glide - Troubleshooting For a Friend
hello everyone, long time reader, first post on the DYNA side.
Anyways, my friend has a 2011 wide glide, trying to help him solve a mystery... Saturday night he got caught in a terrible rainstorm. he was toughing it out when he slammed through a huge puddle (described as "deep enough to splash my face)
the bike shut off and wouldn't start at first, had to have it towed home. now its a couple of days later, he said he can turn it over, but at regular idle in neutral it sputters and stalls out, if he turns it on, he now has to keep revving the engine to keep it from stalling...
any idea on why this is happening? and how it can be fixed, either DIY or through a mechanic.
[QUOTE]He might have sucked water into the engine (partially hydro locked) through the air intake

I seriously doubt that senerio. I think 8541 hog is right on the money. If no piggyback tuner then just go through each electrical connector and dry them out
Cool, Thanks everyone for the input.
i was thinking it was electrical too... he did recently do an exhaust system that included a power commander V (?) could it have gotten into a sensor or two?
instead of ripping the connections apart and drying each one, do you think that there is there any possibility it would dry up on its own? i wouldnt even begin to know where to start with the electrical connections.
The puddle he crashed through was described as very deep. Dont know what type of air cleaner he is running. Just saying its possible although you guys are probably right with electrical
