Default Road Glide

I had my 2011 Superglide in for service yesterday and my dealer gave my a loner,a road glide, this was my first time ever riding a bagger, maybe my last to.It was not as comfortable as I thought it should be,it was smooth but took it's time to get up to speed, not like my now, mine is a rocket compared to that.I really liked the radio it was nice listening to the tunes and you could hear pretty good at highway speeds. This bike was a lot more heavier to handle,I should say that the wife was on back also which of course would add some weight. The only major thing that gave me issues was that the fairing didn't move witht he handlebars,it stayed straight which took alot to get used to,especially in tight spaces,ie,parking lots, taking off, after that it was easy to ride, stopping was my only big concern, between the floor boards and passenger pegs I didn't feel comfrotable,I was glad to get back on mine for sure. You always wonder what's it like to ride those baggers, but I'll take my dyna any day over one of those.I should also mention that the wife said she didn't feel all that comfy either sitting on the back, she had a high backrest too and also thought it would be a nice ride.

Dynas Rock.

Had a dyna and miss it like crazy but no comparison to any hd touring model.. I will give you one thing I thought when I went to a bagger it would b a lot roomier and that is really not the case.. But the OL has more room and better seat options plus bags to put her sh$t in.. For the $ I feel that the touring bikes still leave room to be desired but it's still better than a victory!! Btw dynas do rock and probably get the least respect from most of the rest of the hd community but that's cuz they never had one!! Almost wish I still had mine!!!

Never rode a bagger, nor do i want to, but one of buddies i ride with just picked up an 07 road glide after having a WG. He says the road glide is nice, once you get out of town, but is a bitch around town... Needless to say with all the other baggers that are in my town, i like not conforming and have no intentions of getting rid my dyna

Thanks for the review. My experience with the RG was just about the total opposite to yours. While I love my FXDL, and would never get rid of it, I bought a 2010 RG last September and find myself riding it about 75% of the time.

The RG handles all riding conditions (twisties, sweepers, highways) really well, and in my opinion is the best bike HD makes. The fairing cuts the wind and no buffeting or wobble. Satellite radio is real nice and it's great having the saddlebags for storage.

I upgraded the speakers/amp, seat, and windshield, and it already came with a lot of extras including the HD Premium shocks and Stage 1. I'm pretty sure that I'll be putting in a 107" end of the month.

Two totally different opinions. I guess that's what make a horse race.

Yeah, the WG is lighter, but once he gets used to the handling, it's as easy to maneuver "around town" and at slow speeds as the dyna.

Got both a FXDX and a RG Ultra. While the RG is heavier at slow speeds is still is a pleasure to ride. I have more room and comfort on the RG. It corners well also. I like the fairing on the frame. The responds is better than a batwing because the fairing weight isn't on the forks. It responds fast that a normal bagger.

However, its 300 lbs on the FXDX and of course its more to handle - duh!
I wouldn't say its a piece of ....

I had a Road Glide and it was really nice. Radio would handle everything including a gps. Loved the electronic cruise control. Body fairing shed every bit of wind. Air shocks front and rear plus a big fat seat. But it was heavy. I once pulled up and stopped on the lip of a driveway. That shifted the balance to one side and I just about had a hernia trying to hold that thing up. I like my Dyna better but wish you could get some of the features of the Road Glide.

Road Glide is my next bike! One of my favorite touring bikes HD makes. I will however never sell my Dyna but would love a touring bike.

As to handling. the Touring bikes can turn 180* in about 12 ft, (the Dynas can't do that,)....but the RG is a lot of bike around town.
