Dyna vs Car at intersection..... UGLY
Yeah, it was the car's fault. Got it. But, if that guy was going through a big intersection fast enough to bury his bike into the side of a car like that, he was asking for trouble. We all know the stupid things cagers do and we all know intersections are really dangerous places ... I don't wish bad on anyone, but there's no way he was doing his part to keep something like that from happening (his fault or not).
I hope everyone on this forum sees these pictures and thinks about them every time they're coming to a big intersection ... slow down, put your head on a swivel and get home in one piece.
An accident like that may be the cager's fault, but he's not going to be the one on the way to Shock Trauma ... or the morgue >> news post said, "Police say the driver of the motorcycle was killed. His passenger is in stable condition at Oakwood Hospital. The driver of the Cobalt was not seriously injured" << Figures.
They posted video of the accident. It's kind of hard to see exactly what happened. But not hard to see what happens right after ... there's one more gem of a cage driver in the video. The guy in the big white truck sees the accident happen right in front of him, drives around it and keeps going. I bet he makes his momma proud.

Entirely, purely speculation and only relevant if there were head injuries. If they flew through the air, it just depends how they land.
Any way you look at it, it's sobering...
Another thing I am tired of is sensationalism journalism! Please note how the story begins "Motorcycle T-Bones Car at Taylor Intersection" This is BS. The news report should have been reported as "Driver fails to yeid right of way and turns in front of Motorcycle Killing the rider and severely injuring the passenger".
Yep that'll never happen, just like years ago when SUV's were deemed the evil vehicle and "Unsafe at any speed due to tendency to roll over" or "Deadly due to there extreme size causing injury and death to other drivers". Every larger vehicle, van, station wagon, or pick up involved in any type of accident was labled "SUV involved in accident..." About 70% of the time it wasn't even an SUV or the fault of the accident was the driver of the oversized rollerskate econo tin can doing something stupid.

We do not even register in a cager's mind being the visual size of a moving fence post. Add speeding to that equation and it is very difficult to judge a motorcycle's time to collision point. Have fun when you can but please slow down in a dicey area and live to ride longer.
Bad truck driver very very bad!!
