I might catch some grief for saying this, but its; worth saying ...
Yeah, it was the car's fault. Got it. But, if that guy was going through a big intersection fast enough to bury his bike into the side of a car like that, he was asking for trouble. We all know the stupid things cagers do and we all know intersections are really dangerous places ... I don't wish bad on anyone, but there's no way he was doing his part to keep something like that from happening (his fault or not).
I hope everyone on this forum sees these pictures and thinks about them every time they're coming to a big intersection ... slow down, put your head on a swivel and get home in one piece.
An accident like that may be the cager's fault, but he's not going to be the one on the way to Shock Trauma ... or the morgue >> news post said, "Police say the driver of the motorcycle was killed. His passenger is in stable condition at Oakwood Hospital. The driver of the Cobalt was not seriously injured" << Figures.
They posted video of the accident. It's kind of hard to see exactly what happened. But not hard to see what happens right after ... there's one more gem of a cage driver in the video. The guy in the big white truck sees the accident happen right in front of him, drives around it and keeps going. I bet he makes his momma proud.

Joe I'll take that bashing right along with ya
Man that is just incredible! How sad truely And so preventable.... We all know we have to protect ourself better than this! That kinda speed through that intersection is just insane. Had a similar wreck here local (ricer) at the start of summer..
Dont get me wrong, the cagers do plenty to put us in danger.. But its always seemed to me that the RIDERS do just as much or more. I read something once that said 80%+ of motorcycle fatalities are on the books as "Rider error." Maybe that number is high or maybe not - either way it should provoke some thought.
... For God sakes.. roll out once in awhile. Enjoy the wind and the countryside. And live to enjoy it again tomorrow.
Not saying we should all ride em at a snails pace.. Just that there is a right way and wrong way, as well as a right place and wrong place for almost anything.
Too many brothers and sisters lost to stupid cagers to even START throwing in excessive speed, intoxication and wreckless operation.
I think its a FatBob; the rear shocks look to be solid chrome. Gives me the shivvers seeing these things. I always slow down at intersections and always will. Don't care who's behind me.
The shocks are solid chrome but the rear tail light is on top of a curved fender not under like on a Bob Tail fender. But since we can't see the front end it could be one of several models with parts from other bikes.

I don't see the curved fender. I see the taillight, license plate directly under it then the tire. So it has to be either a fat bob or newer street bob (or at least the fender off one of those).
We do everything we can to blackout our bikes. We remove all possible lights and reflectors. Then we lower them as much as we can. Now we are cool. Not very bright but very cool. We still wonder why the other driver can't see us. Our cool should glow.
