I used a 7/64 bit, reamed just enough to get a tight fit, put a liittle super glue around the base then pushed them up from underneath, then a blob of silicon. All connections soldered and shrink wrapped...very sturdy and waterproof right now, we'll see how they hold up to the vibrations but i think I'll be OK. (I priced out a new chrome dash before I drilled mine just in case, though.) My next option was going to be the'06 risers with integral indicators, but then I was still limited in bar choices. Now I can go with some nice t-bars like your 560's if I want to...
I actually did something a little more unique, which I will have pictures soon. I used a street bob dash which is the same bolt pattern. I had it chromed and installed the led panel in the console where the tach used to be. I then bought bombay bars, which come on the new screamin eagle, and moved my factory tach up the bars with a 2 5/8 brushed aluminum tach w/ shift light. It is almost finished. Just waiting for the dash to get back from being chrome. Was going to go with the led's but wanted a more factory look/install
Here is two pics with them lighted, sorry one is blurry. Cold here and my camera does not like it.
You were right it was a tight fit. Up and down fit great with lots of room. From side to side it was tight, I had to bend the mounting bracket a little and then it all fit right into place.
