Looking to boost power I've got 2 options a race tuner or a power commander what's better and why. Does either help with fuel milage also im thinking about changing the cams out to any suggestions? Thanks in advance !
I've got the HD super tuner on my bike, and at first the software seemed overwhelming. Now that I've played with it a little, it's pretty cool. There are so many settings you can change, it's a lot of fun. I have richened up the idle fuel mixture lately to help it run a little cooler in traffic for the summer. When (if) it ever cools down, I'll change it back. Sorry, can't help out with the power commander.
The tuning option you chose is not the issue. The guy doing the tuning is.
Find a reputable shop who has a dyno and does dynotuning. Then use whatever option they are comfortable with. You will get your best results that way.
My pcv makes my bike get 50mpg highway and 107hp/115tq.
The power commander is a good tuning device and there are many out there that work well, the guy writing the fuel map is the key.
I got a powervision from Fuelmoto for my 06 fatboy & am very satisfied. The preloaded map from fuelmoto worked great after a few tweaks for decel popping.
I know I could probably get a little more power with a full dyno but bike runs so much better than stock map & mileage is still upper 40's --- I am gonna leave it alone until cam change.
Fuelmoto also provides unlimited map support if you buy from them so when I upgrade to 21n cams this winter they will provide a new map free of charge.
Powervision & the software are very simple to use & figure out
