Default Flush mount gas

I just installed the flush mount gas gauge and when I plugged it in it shows nothing. Now the gas gauge on my speedo shows empty and the low fuel light is now on.

Any ideas?

well you know those gas gauges are always correct so you need gas.LOL. did you get the wires crossed? can you plug the old one back in to see if it a bad gauge? check all the wires to make sure they are seated in the plug and making contact.

I believe I've read that if you unplug the gas gauge that the speedo low fuel light comes on and stays on, so it sounds like the gauge is not connected or something's not right with it.

This sucks, IMO, since I wish I could just throw my worthless fuel gauge out and replace it with a dummy cap (which is about as accurate) and not have the low fuel light on all the time.

If it's the H-D Flush LED gauge, LOTS of us here have had problems with these units. When I first bought the Wide, it had one installed by the previous owner, and it worked about 80% of the time. Occasionally, the center gas pump icon LED would not light, along with the high-order LED. Over time, it's gotten worse (20% normal functioning), but usually still the same failure; no pump icon & high-order (full) LED. This issue comes & goes, but my low fuel amber light on the stock speedo always works normally. Even though it's not perfect, I like the low-profile look of the cap & gauge and will stick with them.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but has anyone here tried the flush mount units from BKRider?
