Default Headlight trouble

My headlight quit working and the high beam indicator is stuck on no matter what position the switch is set to. I'm wondering if this is a code for a blown bulb or if there's a short causing both. Anybody ever had this problem or heard of it?

try a new bulb could be shorting inside and back feeding to the high beam side. If that doesn't do it, it might be the hi/low beam switch.

Pulled the headlight and the plug was melted down on one of the posts. Switched out the plug and bulb and I'm back on the road

Were you running a super high wattage bulb? that is the only time I have heard of the connector melting.
