I've been thinking about putting a new seat on my ride that has a back support for me. As far as I can tell I only have two choices. The HD one for $500 or one of the Corbin seats. My dealer doesn't stock the HD seat with the built-in adjustable back rest. So, I can't really see it up close to know if I'll like it or not.
On the other hand. I'm sure the Corbin is an excellent seat. But, damn! Over $800 by the time you add the seat and their back supports!
I guess I'm looking for input from anyone that has used, or at least sat on either one. I'm using the HD Pillow Look seat for now. It's comfortable for any riding distance. But I usually end up packing my tour bag with a big jacket and strapping it to the sissy bar just so I have something to lean back against for longer rides.[sm=confused06.gif]
look at this corbin seat i was just looking at on ebay.you have to check with corbin if it will fit the lowrider.i think it will.its both the rest and the seat.if it does you can save huge.just a thought.here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corbi...spagenameZWDVW
I have the HD seat with the back rest on my lowrider. I love it. I firstswitched to a sundowner which was good. This seat is just as comfortable and the back rest fantastic.
jackyl,
I know for sure that the fitment is different between the Wideglide Vs. all other Glide models. I saw a seat on a 2003 Anniversary Wideglide that I really liked. The owner is a customer of mine and let me sit on it for comparison to mine. But the p/n didn't fit on any other FXD models.
If cost weren't a consideration I'd be buying a seat like yours! Are you the guy that's fabbing up the removable stereo boxes or was that someone else? If that is you, any chance you're gonna do a mold for the stock Lowrider bars?
dynamac,
glad to hear that. I was a little skeptical when I realized that the most expensive HD seat is actually much cheaper than the non-HD seats that have back rests. It's not like HD to be less expensive! Someone in marketing must have messed up!!!
07fxdb,
I don't think I did check in to Mustang very closely. I'll take a look at the link you posted.
I just checked the Mustang site. Seems that I was wrong about seats being different between the WG and other Dynas. Must have been a difference between the 03' WG fittment and 05' Dyna.
Damn, I was doing so well. Hadn't been wrong about anything since my wife went to bed an hour ago![sm=chattypair.gif]

"Hadn't been wrong about anything since my wife went to bed "
Good one 05LR.
But, check with her in the morn, and I am sure she will beg to differ.
That is fine.... Don't ARGUE about this with her, DICKER.
jackyl,

yes iam.the stereo casedoesnt fit on your bars it mounts to the windshield.and yes it will fit your lowrider if you have a windshield.
I have the Corbin classic solo with the provision for a back rest. I am 50 and sometimes want a back rest and bought a non corbin back rest off ebay for $89.00 that matches the Corbin seat and I love it for long rides. The Corbin is great and the non-corbin back rest is great.
