i ordered the mid control shift linkage thru eBay last week and received it friday and installed yesterday.
its definitely good quality, a little pricey (about $45 shipped), could have made it myself but felt like supporting a local company.
the hardware is supplied from bung king, i used it but felt the bolts could have been 1/4"-1/2" shorter. the nuts are used as spacers so the bolts dont hit the case or tranny top cover. (see 2nd pic)
I've been looking at getting that linkage from Bung King (not sure I trust the stock linkage to withstand much abuse). I'm not crazy about the long hardware either. It'd look great with shorter bolts.

i had a shift linkage on my old forward controls that were similar to the stock mid glide linkage and it broke on me before and left me to jockey shift that sucker home lol....
Ill get around to the shorter bolts but for now it works fine..
mark where you need to cut it, slip a nut on that screw, cut the excess off, file downt he end of the screw so it it smooth and round and uncrew the nut, this will sharpen the thread on it so it basicly retaps it... works great and will cost you nothing and take about 5 min bud
+2 on cutting the bolts shorter and dressing the end with a file. A bench vise makes this a much easier task. In the old days.. I think they called it craftsmanship.

And one more little useful tip! Thanks, I was just looking into cutting a bolt because it's too long, now I have the right procedure to do it to preseve the thread.
What kind of average (use) mileage should we expect the original linkage to fail at?
