FINALLY!!! Got my IPB Race pulled...
The Jim's tool

My puller beam and driver bolt

The set-up; pipe-wrench braced on pax peg to hold puller beam, 18" breaker bar with 5/8" socket to drive puller bolt

Reward after agonizing & exerting effort

I was almost sure something was gonna break, as much weight I was applying to that breaker bar. I even pre-heated the race with a propane torch, in case it was Loc-Tite'd in place. That later picture DOES look red where the race sat on the shaft.
I know many guys have used a cutting wheel to score the race, then split it with a chisel; that was my fall-back position. I'm glad the Jim's tool had the gumption to handle the abuse. Two of the puller fingers of my K-D Tools Kit sheared when I tried them last week.
Yeah, replacing the stock IPB with the Baker High-Torque. Already tested it and it slip-fits onto the input shaft real nice. Spent the rest of the day with Simple Green and several brushes. Should start reassembly tomorrow.

I brought my air die-grinder home from work, but when I tried to get it in there, i saw it was too big and there was no way I could cut the race with it.
I decided to try my dremel with that tiny little cutting wheel since I didn't have anything else around...it sliced right through it in a couple minutes. It was a pleasant surprise to me!
After this experience, I may be recommending the Dremel with a small diameter wheel. Your way sure sounds like a breeze compared to time/tools/stress of my pull.
