21" Wheel on Super Glide--Done and Installed
Had it professionally trued and the tire mounted, and on the bike last night. Only took it for a short ride as it was raining, so I didn't really notice any differences in the ride, which is good.

21"x2.15" rim from J&P #2000195 ($89)
Stainless spokes from Buchanan #KHD902SS ($115)
90/90-21" Pirelli Night Dragon tire
I've built quite a few bicycle wheels, so I already had the basics down. Mostly followed the directions in the service manual. I took photos as I did it and I'll post them later when I'm not at work being productive...

Good work and THX for passing the 'how-to' info on for the next guy ...

First, I stared at the original 19" wheel for a while to figure out how the spokes were configured. Consumed 1 beer.

Then I de-spoked the wheel. I didn't own a big enough spoke wrench, and I wasn't planning on reusing the nipples, so I just used a pliers. Obviously this would be easier with the tire off, or you could just cut the spokes.

I then installed the new spokes, alternating between the 2 different head lengths. I split each side of the hub in half and taped the sections together. I probably wouldn't have figured this part out without referencing the service manual, but it made it a lot easier. Then you can set the hub in the center of the rim and separate the spokes on either side of the rim.

I started on one side of the hub and spread the spokes out evenly. Then I started with the inner, longer headed spokes and routed them into the appropriate hole in the rim, and loosely threaded a nipple on each one to keep it in place. Note that I covered the rim in masking tape to keep from scratching it.
