Sup fellas quick questions for those with a thundermax tuner. I did a bar swap over the weekend and swaped out a new battery in the process. My question is i didnt reinstall the new battery till the swap was complete. Everything worked as it should bike fired up no problem. Fueled her up and went for a nice ride and noticed my gas milage is horrible. Could i have screwed something up dew to the battery being disconnected for so long? Also my fuel pump is making a crappy noise when its priming prior to start?
Did you reinitialize your tmax per the instructions? I'm not sure what the procedure is, but there's something in the instructions as far as pulling the ECM fuse when disconnecting the battery.
Dam thanks fellas. So please excuse my lack for knowlage here on this 30 sec. Deal On and off. So you mean put the key in turn it to run 30 sec. Turn key back off for 30 then run again for 30 sec. ? How will i know if it works?
Make sure stop/run switch is on then cycle ignition switch on for thirty seconds and then off for thirty seconds do this three times. There is no way to check to see if it worked but you should be able to tell by the way it runs and mpg. All this really. Does is synce the IAC (intake air controller) with the thundermax
Ya i did just that. Bike running kinda hot. Not sure if it work? But spoke with HD and the recomended i speak with zippers . I might have to link it up to the lap top and use the software to pick a base map with my add ons. I would do this now but the soft ware and usb cord that links to the TM tuner is at my inlaws in nevada wont have till monday. So the bike will sit till i have all my ducks in a row . Thanks every one for the support ..
Hook it back up and link the bike, go to (read module maps and settings)..... Let it read the map, and apt learned offsets to to map....
If you've made changes to the bike, performance wise!!! Pick a map that reflects your mods and use a new map....
You could have a corrupted map....
The TMax is very sensitive to battery condition. One day I was looking at my map and saw that in the TMCC there were all kinds of odd readings, then checked for codes and saw a battery fault. The battery must have had a spike and corrupted the map. Threw in a new battery, reloaded the map and all was good, if not better. This might have happened to you with the old battery.
You also have to pull the ECM fuse whenever you disconnect the power.
