The plastic tensioner nut has broken away from the main assembly. Do I need to buy from the **** to the valve (****, cable, valve assembly) or is there another way to fix it, super glue does not work. ----- Thanks, James lee. Also I need to know which one to by, it has a stock carb. 1999 FXDWG

Reason: YEAR OF BIKE
It is an assembly (cable, ***** and nut). This is common. Over tighten the plastic knurled **** and it cracks.
Part is 29229-88D should fit the CV carb for all bikes. About 10 bucks.
Drop it from the mount, unscrew the cable at the carb and reroute the new one the same way as the old.
I just replaced mine on my 97 FXDL I'm betting the process is pretty much the same. The only way to unscew the cable from the carb. is to remove the carb. I did it step by step per the manual which tells you you have to remave the gas tank first. When I finally got to the last step wich was to actually pull the carb off the motor I realized this was untrue. I could have pulled the carb without removing the tank. I'm betting you can do the same.
My original cable lasted all of 6 months, maybe, POS!! I replaced it with a Mikuni unit, far better made with a positive on/off detent. You will have to remove the Mik plunger and spring and use the Harley units, problem solved permanently. Fastrider 124
