The early 05' builds had valve guide seal issues. HD changed seals mid year, so it's a coin toss if you're one of the lucky ones. A good tell tale sign of bad seals is oil consumption.

The only thing that's gone wrong with my 05' was a cam bearing (noticed at 34k when the tensioners were yanked out)

First I heard of the 05' being included.

 

Local friend/indie said he had an 05 with the 06 alt issue. New to me. he said it was a late 05. Anythings possible.
