Hey 128auto... I'd like to know how the ride is on a Dyna with those touring air shocks in your pics? Do they handle good and ride good? How much air did you run in them? Thanks
I have them and for the $$$ they work quite well, I'm sure a set of Ohlins is much better and I plan to get a set one day - for now I like the air shocks just fine. They do ride much better than the stock buckboard shocks, fit well, look good, have yet to do anything bad and (if you get the standard length ones) can be had dirt cheap for virtually new take offs. Add a link kit and fittings from the dealer if they don't come with any and you can still be riding for just a little over $100.
Damn, thats pretty cool. Thanks for the info... I'm gonna see if I can find a set for my Wideglide. The black looks great too. Are you running the air pressure like a touring bike would, or lower?
hellbob37 & secondlook is the air ride a plush comfortable ride Or is it stiff ?
The Stock touring air shocks are cool but I think I want the ability to raise and lower the bike
i am in the processes of doing a build your own air ride (adjustable) for a dyna right now... it is on the back burner as i am riding the bike right now but early fall ill have it complete and do a full how to... have done one on a bagger already and it works great! just got to figure out a smaller compressor (that is not super $$$$) to tuck into the dyna. All in all ill have about $200 into this project all together
I haven't tried any on the Wide Glide yet...I'd have to get a pair of the 12" take offs if I did and they are fairly pricey for me. I know, they're $120 or so but compared to the $25 I paid for a brand new set of 13" air shocks $120 is pricey. LOL
I run the Road King air shocks on my Sportster and they were a night and day difference. On the sportster, we run 0-5psi solo because the bike is so light to begin with compared to a touring bike. It seems 25 psi would be a bit much on a Dyna. I'd think 10-15 would be more resonable then go to 25 if you go 2-up. What happens when you guys have tried the lower pressure?
I have the Legends Air shocks on my 2011 FXDC. There are awesome. The ride is much better. No more pogo effect. Only feel the biggest bumps and then its one bump up then it levels out. The ability to adjust the ride is very cool too. Wife loves it. And when you park it, let out the air and the bike stands vertical without a lean to the sidestand. Although i dont leave it that low. I get paranoid she might fall over from a wind gust. Ride quality is awesome. Jack it up and hit the twisties!
