I might have asked this years ago but can not recall, and a search did not find anything.
Long story short on a Vtwin my wife's vision gets blurry after 20 minutes and within 30 she could not tell the difference between a post and a person as we ride down the road.
This condition had caused me to sell my first street bob and move to a smooth as glass import. I could not take the import any more and am now on my second street bob. while I love it, she does not.
First question, has anybody else seen or heard of blurry vision due to vibrations from the bike?
Second question, has anybody had experience with balancemasters? I am looking at that as an option.
She rides with a full face helmet, behind my big ol body, and i have a windshield infront of me. Wind is not it. No issues with her on her Honda, or my old Kawi. Just the vtwin vibe..
Sounds more like a case of dry eye. Maybe the wind is hitting her differently on the SB than on the import. She could try goggles, glasses, get her own bike or the best solution I've found tell here to stay home. Works for me.
If there's a screw loose a Harley will rattle it more.
Has she had a recent eye exam? Vibration doesn't affect your vision unless something is wrong. Uncorrected farsightedness, astigmatism, dry eyes, low blood pressure, something.
Get a full exam, including dilation. Sometimes farsightedness is difficult to diagnose and requires a drop that paralyzes your vision, known as a cycloplegic. PM me if you want, I am an optometrist.
First, she might need her vision tested. I'm not an eye doctor, so perhaps one might be able to help her.
Second, it could be anxiety causing her vision problems too. Do you hotrod more on the FB vs. the Metric? Does she have something in her past related to loud motorcycles which could trigger her anxiety? Anxiety can cause blurred and tunnel vision.
Last but not least...get her earplugs. The noise profile may be causing some issues. And you might try softening up the shocks by one click.

Reason: Answered the helmet question...
same helmet, on 3 different dynas, even tried a touring harley and same issues. same full faced helmet. various winshields.. same issues.
she does have high blood pressue, i will talk to her eye dr and see if that combo could be something..
i do not think its wind, we hot rodded my Kawi pretty hard past the 120 mark on the speedo and there were no issues. if i did not know better i would say she was allergic to the motorco or something.
