This is what I went with. It's the FLD Switchback set-up. If you're intrested, I've got a list of pn's, prices, and notes. Or, Just search it here on the Forums. There's plenty of info on it.

Both styles are so much cheaper! I used the first set on my old GL1000 for years and loved em!
The ones you show from JC Whitney are $89 from EBAY KC International.

Sounds like you're going to 'mix and match' everything from the FXDP except the front right support arm from FLD setup ...??? Hope that works ... not sure if the arm height is the same between FXDP and FLD ... in which case, IF it works, the boards may not be supported at the same angle ...

Good luck and keep us posted ...

* * *

I considered the peg-mounted floorboards briefly ... not knocking anyone who has them and likes them ...

The rationale for my rejection of them as a viable alternative is I did not judge them as being substantial enough ... at least as in comparison to the systems being offered by the MoCo for riders ... I do not believe H-D has ever offered--for the rider--a peg-mounted board setup ...

My perception of the mini-floorboards and the JC Whitney systems ... (never having used them) ... is that the foremost and aftermost parts of the board are inadequately supported, since they only have cantilever support from the peg mount ... whereas, the Softail setup I am using, and the FXDP, and FLD systems have support arms at both the front and rear of the boards ...

I guess my concern would be that the forces on either heel or toe would torque the board and over time and weaken it to the point of breaking ... (don't know how long that might take) ... also, I think the Softail, FXDP (and Wyatt Gatling aftermarket equivalent) and FLD have a more 'factory' appearance, as if they were or could have been OEM ...

Just my $0.02 ... FWIW ...

I did a lot of research before I selected the FLD set-up.

The FXDP brackets come over the top of the exhaust, and are approx. 2 inches to the rear compared to the FLD's. Also, they are pritty much level where-as the FLD's are about an inch lower in the rear than the front.

Point; If you are 5'8" to 5'10" ish.... the FXDP's would probably be a better choice. I'm 6' nothin' w/ 31" inseam. The FLD's work better for me. (More leg room)

Hope this helps.

Best wishes....Tim(HT)

I have used BOTH the floorboards referenced by StevOn or ones nearly identical.

The adjustable ones I purchased from 2 Orange Harleys several years ago. They
mount up easily and are very adjustable but the rubber came off in just a couple
months and despite several promises, 2OH never sent replacement rubbers nor would
either exchange the set or give a refund.

Last Spring I mounted the second set referenced as an experiment. They are still on
the bike until I fiddle with it this Winter but I'm not happy with them. They are either
too flat or too angled for comfort (there's two settings) and they drag too easily.

So I'll probably order a replacement set of the adjustable ones pictured and use some
set screws to make sure the rubber is well attached. .

Called the dealer and they don't have the part number or price for this kit yet. I've already started piecing it together.
The parts guy said to call at the end of the month becaue H-D hasn't even released it to them yet.
On a side note, that blue Switchback looks pretty sweet.
