Good luck and keep us posted ...

I considered the peg-mounted floorboards briefly ... not knocking anyone who has them and likes them ...

The rationale for my rejection of them as a viable alternative is I did not judge them as being substantial enough ... at least as in comparison to the systems being offered by the MoCo for riders ... I do not believe H-D has ever offered--for the rider--a peg-mounted board setup ...

My perception of the mini-floorboards and the JC Whitney systems ... (never having used them) ... is that the foremost and aftermost parts of the board are inadequately supported, since they only have cantilever support from the peg mount ... whereas, the Softail setup I am using, and the FXDP, and FLD systems have support arms at both the front and rear of the boards ...

I guess my concern would be that the forces on either heel or toe would torque the board and over time and weaken it to the point of breaking ... (don't know how long that might take) ... also, I think the Softail, FXDP (and Wyatt Gatling aftermarket equivalent) and FLD have a more 'factory' appearance, as if they were or could have been OEM ...

Just my $0.02 ... FWIW ...

I am actually selling the Wyatt kit and will not mix and match anything. My pop already has forward controls on his Dyna. And he has the billet shifter and brake pedal. I didnt think the brake pedal would fit because of the angle it took. However I saw his brake pedal has the same angle. I also found out on the forum that we can use the parts from his forward controls. And I already ordred the FLD floorboard brackets. The only other thing I need to buy is a larger brake pedal a and the Willie G swept floorboard inserts. He decided againt the banana boards because I have them. Plus he spent all this money on the shifter pegs and other stuff that match. So all is now well in Brooklyn. If anyone is interested in the Wyatt kit shoot me a PM. I already posted it in the classified section.

The parts guy said to call at the end of the month becaue H-D hasn't even released it to them yet.
On a side note, that blue Switchback looks pretty sweet.

I ordered them, but now I have a new brake lever because that's the first part I bought....was going to do it over a few months so it didn't hurt my wallet so bad. The girl at Surdyke was pretty badass...says she's been a parts girl for 14 years. I might have to take a ride down there. She sounded cute on the phone....lol

Parts are in!! Everything to do the swap is included, including the gaskets. There are also instructions included. I don't know when I'll have time to install them, but they did get here much sooner than the expected time.

Nothing happened to me. However thank you for your concern. This is my dads bike which spends most of the time in my garage. Hense why he has 1572 miles on it yet I have 12500 miles on my streetglide. He had an 11.5% rate on the bike when he went to HD financial even though he had a good credit score. Well now he wants a deluxe and nassau financial credit union offered him 2.25% if he financed the bike. Getting the deluxe will bring his payment lower than what he is paying now by $43 a month. Of course he has to start from the beginning modding his bike but he wants something more comfortable. My dad is 65 donates 25% of his earnings every year for the last 20 years ever since he company took off. He always made sure we were taken care of. Thats not to say the old man didnt teach us the value of a $1. And never spoiled us. If I wanted a new car I would have to come up with the 3/4 of the down payment and pay for half the insurance when I was 17. If I couldnt make the payment because I went out to much he would make sure my *** worked on one of his friends construction sites to make extra. You get the jist of it. But now he feels after all these years of hard work and money he has given to charity he can spend money on himself. As he said Im not going to take it with me. So this project bike was done. Now he wants to start again. Oh well there is nothing i can do about it

Did you have to cut the heat shield on the front pipe?

Not at all. They brackets just cleared it and had about an 3mm of room to spare. It was a pretty easy add on especially if you already had the forward controls on.
