Sad as it may be.....I just sold my superglide, going back to rigid frames and open primaries, I don't fit the Harley stereotype! This forum however has to be the BEST on the web, I've learned more here than I ever imagined...... Thanks guys, and don't scrape your knee out there
I was expecting another story about how they "upgraded" to a touring bike. The rigid caught me by surprise.
Exactly. I'm starting to wonder how many people ride their dynas because that's what they want, rather than waiting to "upgrade" to a Softie or Bagger.
To the OP: I dig your new bike. I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking about building a rigid as a second bike.
What's the deal with the open primaries? I always seen them on the Chopper shows & what not, but always thought it was for the "coolness" factor.
I can say I wanted a FXDL. I thought my dads soft tail (which I could of gotten crazy cheap) felt like a tank. I wanted something smaller. As far as a bagger...pfft. lol.
It's a 2010 custom, kraftech frame, pro one wide glide, 21 front, 16 rear, S&S 103", baker 5 speed, BDL open primary with Barnett clutch pack, it's disgustingly loud and frighteningly fast!
The open primary transfers power from the engine much faster and harder, 3" of belt vs 9mm of chain is a huge difference...... And, they have the coolness factor!
