I currently own a 2008 FXDC that I bought used with 9000 miles. It currently has 12000 miles on it.This bike has a whine type noise in the primary area that can be heard at an idle. It sounds like my 2007 Sportster when I would over tighten the primary chain. I know this model has a self adjusting primary chain. Is any one else experiencing this noise, or should I get it checked out? The noise was there when I puchased the bike and has gotten no louder, just some days it bothers me more than others. I am a subaru tech by trade and engine noise drive me CRAZY. These TC96 engines seem very mechanically loud to me.

Stand it up straight , open the derby and check the oil level, and have a peep for any ab-normal wear marks, for the record I don't hear a whine ..... until I ask my wife for a BJ!

 

Funny, she doesn't whine when I ask her for one. Just kidding of course. My wife like just about every other wife has TMJ. Riiiiiiiiiight.
