Well I apologize if I offended you in some way but, saying your dealer don't troubleshoot and just replaces parts because that's what they're used to comes off as slamming and/or slander. As for the starter when you use words like "wait til they find out" it implies that you're going to use it as some kind of leverage against them. At the end of the day I'm happy that it turned out in your favor. Again I do apologize if you've been offended by my offering of "knowledge".
I think you went off all batshit on me, and that guy graemer too!
I was venting and maybe a little negative who knows! but for the record the tek who is about 30 years old told me himself that they do indeed get an ok from the chief tek, who might consider your problem for 30 seconds and they call it and change it out , and most of it under warranty without considering weather or not it's coming from our pocket. Again I was reflecting that I would rarely go back to the dealer now that I realize new parts ,but jobber, not original parts can be had for much less, I'm just not at the point of being sure said parts would last as long or cause problems at re-sale. You can't leverage the dealer, they just smile and wave!
I think you and I actually think in much the same way so no apologies necessary, I am in a very dark space these days for several reasons but I think I'll get through it.
obviously this dealer took in to account the lack of knowledge of their tech on the first repair and is doing the right thing, not only with the repair but with the loaner bike.
I voted "sucks"... but it certainly went from your fault, their fault, sucking, and then in the end, NOT sucking! Everyones a winner!!! Glad it all worked out for ya.
