Default Big Boyz heads

I was looking at them online and they say they can do the heads for $299.00 and get good results. I am running a TW37 Andrews cam and will probably run 9.8:1 compression with a 95 kit. I like to hammer on the throttle a bit but never redline it. I want good street power.
Anyone have experience with the $299.00 headwork? Will I see good results with this set up?

That seems pretty reasonable, I wonder what they do and how big the gains are? I know fuel moto also offers head porting for $300 and $700 depending on which one you pick.

Is the '02 (?) FXDXT in your sig pic the bike from which you'll be having the heads ported ...?

I understand the '07-later stock heads are an improvement over the earlier Twin Cam heads and may be just as much improvement for the money ... or you might check with them whether you could send some donor heads from an '07-later motor for them (vice your stock take-off heads) ...

You could probably find some gently used take-off heads on e-bay or craigslist ...

Only thing you'd have to do to make them work is swap out the intake manifold flanges with the later style flanges ...

I've got a pretty similar setup on my 88"-to-95" conversion ...

Even though the newer heads flow better, a ported 88" head will still be better than a stock 96". When they port, they will cc the chambers as well to make sure everything's even. Straight bolt on though and the 96" heads are an upgrade for flow and cooling. Not a whole lot though.

I think what he was getting at was to but some layer model heads and have them ported. I was thinking of doing this when installing a big bore kit as well.

They don't put larger valves in for that price,they just port and polish. They don't rebuild the heads you have either-they just make sure everything is in order. (Doesn't bother me-Harley heads seem to last forever in the Twin cams)
I am interested to hear from someone that has used them to see what their experience was.....

Question on your cams...are you running them advanced or stock timing?

I have the same cams but haven't installed them yet...have read that on an 88ci they like to be advanced 4 degrees.

I had my Indy install them-not sure. I will say this;I like the cam as a whole,however I didn't see a dramatic change in performance. I did see a HUGE difference in my Electra when it was done with the same cam. That was with a 95 kit with higher than stock compression.

From what I have read, if you don't have higher compression, then you need to advance for better performance.

Sounds like it is at stock timing if it wasn't very noticeable. You can get a key to advance 4° which may be what wakes it up?
