Default Dyna Owners Need Assistance

( Coming from a SPORTY)
In the upcoming weeks I plan to test drive a STREET BOB and SWITCHBACK
but before I do I am looking for any pro's and con's I can expect.
I love the "idea" of the Switchback and would most likely outfit the Street Bob similiarly ( detachable Windshield, bags and two up seat etc.)
I just like the LOOK and the new colors of the SB versus the classic look of the Switch Back.

So both will have the 103cc, can I expect them to handle the highway the same ? The twisties ? I don't do a lot of TOURING but like to have the bags for some overnighters or long day trips etc. Using the online "customizer" they actual come up priced close once you add all the extra to the Bob. Any insight or advice would be helpful
And yes I KNOW I HAVE TO TEST RIDE THEM AND COMPARE !!

Thanks Guys and Gals !!

I love my Street Bob. For the Dynas, it is the one available now that handles most closely to the Sportester. The Switchback has air shocks and a little different set up. Although I have not ridden one, I would imagine it is not as responsive as the Bob. I don't think the stock Street Bob comes with a 103, so you would have to upgrade the motor.

When you complete your test drive let us know what you think of the handling comparing the two.

Compare the cost of outfitting the SB to the cost of the outfitted Switchback prob save some money going with the switchback

oops, my bad. I thought it did.

I've only seen the switchback at the dealer. Don't know anyone who rides them except on the forum. I've ridden other Dynas, but not that one. I have also ridden an 883. they are very nice in the turns. I think i also mispoke about the Street Bob and handling. I think HD brought back the low rider, which has great handling as well.

I owned a 2007 Street Bob and got it brand new in the summer of 07, traded it off for the Switchback in October of 2011 and the Switchback is a much better bike on the road and in the 'twisties'.

One thing I always hated about the Street Bob is that corner wobble at high speeds, the Switchback has none of that, the platform is more stable. Admittedly I fixed that wobble with a set of progressive rate springs by Progressive and the surprise was how short those stock front springs truly are, it's a wonder they had any travel at all!

But it comes down to what you're looking for:

1) Do you like the sleek look of the Street Bob? If so it's damn nice bike and a great platform for mods. It's got the modern Dyna look to it so if that's your bag by all means that's your bike.

2) Do you like like comfort and great handling? The Switchback is a HUGE step up from the Street Bob. If you like the classic look than the Switchback is really a great option.

Not to say that it's even comparable to the touring bikes because it aint, my Evo Road King was a much nicer ride but when you compare Dynas to Dynas, the Switchback beats em all hands down.

Also there are NO air shocks on the Switchback, just wanted to restate that.
