so i bought this bike new from the dealer when i was home on my RNR during my tour to afghanistan, recently just got home and out of the service so ive been riding it as much as i can, i had the first major service done to the bike, but recently now i noticed that when i ride over railroad tracks that have a hard dip after it or hit a big ditch / pot hole with the rear tire the bike will almost cut off for 1/4 of a second and then back fire, but at the same time when it back fires, one of the red lights on the dash will come on and then go right back off.
I have VnH big radius pipes, VnH fuel pak, and a Kurykan intake.
Ive gone over all the wiring cause i feel that something is getting pinched when the rear drops when i hit a dip, and found nothing. i checked all the conectors. also i just checked the codes about 20 mins ago there were 2, p2300 and p2303. front and rear coil low voltage. im going to clear them and see if they come back on, i could not find anything on the web about these codes except for what they are. im not sure if that has something to do with it...
ok heres an update, i erased the codes and took it out, it still backfired when i hit a large dip in the road and the oil light flashes real quick so its almost like the bike shuts off for half a second and then starts back up, got back and checked and no codes so i think that was for another problem i had forgot to put the charger on the bike and it was a lil hard to start one day. im not to great with bikes but with cars i no that low battery voltage could throw codes so maybe that was why i had the to codes i did.
im really going with a pinched wire, sometimes after it back fires the throttle will stick a little bit. not high but almost as if it doesnt drop all the way down. ill come up to a stop and itll stay up at like 12 to 1300 rpms, but once i crack it, it goes back down. this is the only time it happens, never had a problem with the throttle while just riding

first off i wouldn't tear in to it too much since you are under the factory warranty as you may do something they will use against you to void a portion of it.
i would check all of the plug connections that you can get to including the coil connections and housings for starter/shutoff buttons and trip/hi low headlight buttons could be they may have pinched a wire
also since day one when i come off throttle my bike has idled high around 1300rpm and then gradually slowed down between 900 and 1k was told that was normal...
not that I know this from experience, but have you checked the preload setting on your shocks? I am 210# and was foolish enough to assume the dealer would set it up for me.
As background- there are 5 detents for the stock shocks. 1 is for under 140 pounds and it progresses up to #5 for 225 pounds or greater- think rider and passenger. According to what I read in the service manual (i think it was there) the bike is set at detent #3 from the factory.
The first time I had my wife on the back we rode about 10 miles and the red light came on. I turned around and went home and pulled out the manual. Red light= electrical system. Sure enough, all of my turn signal wires were wedged between the fender and the tire with all that weight on the bike!!! So I pulled the fender and spliced in some new wire sections to replace the damaged portions. Guess what mine was set at.. preload #1 instead of #4 or #5
I may have not secured the wires well after I spliced them to put the detachable side plates on. If you end up doing that- make sure you space out where the splices are so you dont get stuck with a wad of splices in one spot that dont fit back into the wire management channel under the fender.
So, I'd advise you check that ASAP.
