I purchaced the 2012 SB. When talking to the salesman I asked if it was a 2013 and he said yes.. So I thought it was a 2013 until I got home later and pulled out the owners manual and it said 2012. I pick it up tomorrow.. I paid 15579.00 thinking it was 2013. In reading the threads you all seem to agree.... no improvements... do you think I should make a big deal about it or just right it off.. After all... it is my first harley I paid cash and it only has 3 miles on it.. what do you think???
I would verify if it's a 2012 or 2013 first. You might have bought a 2013 bike, but they gave you a 2012 owners manual. If you did actually buy a 2012 and the salesman told you it was a 2013 I would definitely demand a discount since you're getting a bike that's technically one year older and worth less when it comes time to sell it or trade it in.
maybe the dealer just put a 2012 owner's manual in there by accident. My dealer had trouble finding an owner's manual for my bike. It took a couple of days. Seems like they would have what they need there.
Is the 10th digit of the VIN a C or a D?
If they sold you an 012 and told you its a 13,
that is a BIG no-no ~!!! Read your contract !!!

The bill of sale says 2012.. when I signed it I just looked over my address and the price agreed on... Its my fault for not looking over the make and model info instead of trusting what I was told...

if you have not taken it home yet check your state law as you may have 72 hours to get out of the deal..
i would check that first and then i would go see the sales manager and tell him the salesman said it was a 2013 and that you are not happy and want out unless they can do something in the way of parts or knock some money off of the deal..
keeping it, paid upfront, fair deal... coulda been my lack of knowledge on the bike.. If I woulda made payments I probably would have got a better deal but the interest would have put me at more than I paid... there is no difference between the 12 and 13 except that they offer some other colors... so with only 3 miles on it, Ill be cool, but thx for all the input.. I was just trippin...
Stage-1 is a download that is loaded into the bike along with a new air cleaner. The stage-1 is $175 the hi flow air cleaner that accompanies it is about $150 plus about an hour of labor. If you want to gut your headers or have new one put on it will be about another hour of labor. They should work with you on this if they mislead you. You will notice a difference in performance with these upgrades.
